چکیده

Water-extractable organic matter is the most active and mobile form of soil carbon. The other fraction extremely biolabile carbon constituent microorganisms. Both these fractions play an essential role in agrocenoses global cycle on our planet. aim work was to estimate content water-extractable as well that microbial origin typical chernozems (Protocalcic Chernozems) different land-use types. Protocalcic Chernozem samples taken from fields long-term experiments with types land use were investigated: a permanent bare fallow for 55 years (since 1964); conventional tillage – four-field crop rotation, first rotation; direct seeding rotation similar seeding, 21-year 1998) after 34 1964). We determined origin. In studied series variants, proportion total amount upper horizon (0–15 cm) 0.69, 0.85, 1.01, 0.98%, respectively, while 0.27, 0.55, 0.53, 1.52%. It noted against background increasing variant, compared traditional treatment, biomass this variant does not increase. unlike all use, characterized by higher carbon, contrast matter.

Temperature Dependence of Photodegradation of Dissolved Organic Matter to Dissolved Inorganic Carbon and Particulate Organic Carbon

Photochemical transformation of dissolved organic matter (DOM) has been studied for more than two decades. Usually, laboratory or "in-situ" experiments are used to determine photodegradation variables. A common problem with these experiments is that the photodegradation experiments are done at higher than ambient temperature. Five laboratory experiments were done to determine the effect of temp...

Importance of microbial soil organic matter processing in dissolved organic carbon production.

Soil dissolved organic carbon (DOC) sources and its seasonal dynamics are poorly known. We aimed to determine the contribution of plant and soil organic matter (SOM) to size classes of DOC in a field experiment with C3 to C4 vegetation change on two soil types through different seasons. Stable isotope ratios of DOC size classes were measured using size exclusion chromatography (SEC) coupled onl...

Relationships between colored dissolved organic matter and dissolved organic carbon in different coastal gradients of the Baltic Sea

Due to high terrestrial runoff, the Baltic Sea is rich in dissolved organic carbon (DOC), the light-absorbing fraction of which is referred to as colored dissolved organic matter (CDOM). Inputs of DOC and CDOM are predicted to increase with climate change, affecting coastal ecosystems. We found that the relationships between DOC, CDOM, salinity, and Secchi depth all differed between the two coa...

Photochemical andmicrobial alteration of dissolved organic matter in temperate headwater streams associated with different land use

[1] Photochemical and microbial transformations of DOM were evaluated in headwater streams draining forested and human-modified lands (pasture, cropland, and urban development) by laboratory incubations. Changes in DOC concentrations, DOC isotopic signatures, and DOM fluorescence properties were measured to assess the amounts, sources, ages, and properties of reactive and refractory DOM under t...

Carbon isotopic characterisation of dissolved organic matter during water treatment.

Water treatment is a series of physio-chemical processes to aid organic matter (OM) removal, which helps to minimise the formation of potentially carcinogenic disinfection by-products and microbial regrowth. Changes in OM character through the treatment processes can provide insight into the treatment efficiency, but radiogenic isotopic characterisation techniques have yet to be applied. Here, ...
